There are plenty of online opportunities to work from home. In the past, scams were everywhere, but with the Internet, there are plenty of companies that provide real work-at-home jobs that you can do in the comfort of your home. Always be aware of scams though. Never pay for these opportunities and always do your research before you start working for any company looking for a worker from home.

1. Transcriptionist

You don't have to have experience to be a transcriptionist unless you want to do something specialized like medical transcription. There are plenty of sites that are looking for general transcriptionists. All you need is a good Internet connection, a headset and good typing skills to get started. As a general transcriptionist, you won't make a full-time career out of it until you've gained more experience with the company you've chosen.

2. Blogger

This isn't a job that will pay immediately, but it's a good option for people who want a side hustle. With a blog, you can talk about your favorite hobby or topic, place some advertisements or sell products from the site and make some extra cash. It's often done in addition to other sources of online income too. You might want to become an affiliate for baby products while writing a blog about your unique family.

3. Website Designer

If you have some design or coding experience, you can create websites for others. In some cases, all you need is a bit of Wordpress knowledge as well as how to attract customers who need your service. You could advertise your services on a site like Upwork or even Fiverr where you can gain some experience before charging more money for your websites.

4. Tutor/Teacher

With special knowledge, you can teach others. For example, if you are fluent in a foreign language, know how to code or understand math, you can teach those skills to others. As a tutor, you're likely to be spending time with children, but you might be able to record sessions that people can purchase too. Udemy is a great site for selling courses.

5. Virtual Assistant

A virtual assistant helps with certain tasks for small business owners, coaches or entrepreneurs. The assistant might handle the person's travel scheduling, social media account or bookkeeping tasks. To start as a virtual assistant, you'll need to have a computer and a marketable skill.

A person who can speak and write more than one language can translate documents and do transcription quite easily. You have to be extremely fluent and have the ability to adhere to grammar and style rules in both languages to find work in this field. Knowledge of business practices can help since it's likely to be business topics you're helping to translate.

10. Fashion Stylists

Anyone who loves to give style and fashion advice to their friends, knows the latest trends or influences what people are wearing next can be hired online as a fashion consultant or stylist. Companies like Stitch Fix has stylists who work from home to find fashion for their clients.

Always make sure the platform you're using is legitimate before starting your work-from-home career. You'll need a computer, strong Internet connection and a skill that can be transformed into a career that can be done from home. Even if you don't do the work on a computer, there's correspondence that needs to happen virtually with the company.
